WELCOME to my Birthday: We are off to Table Mountain.
It is absolutely wonderful that the weather was good on my birthday and that I could visit the mountain. The weather is often too cloudy, window or rainy for the cable car to operate on my birthday. In fact the wind started to gust strongly on the mountain towards mid-afternoon and it rained cats and dogs the next day- well all of the week-end.
Just before I ascended I met David Zimmerman who kindly took a picture with me. Later Iwatched him do an abseil; anyway he came down the Plattekloof Gorge cliff on a rope. See the picture of the gorge below of the gorge. It is actually almost twice as deep as the photo taken at the shallow end shows. I do not think that I should spoil his future fun / show by publishing the abseil pictire I took at this time.
